HistoryThe current website is based upon the work of Sarah Pletcher, MD and Maureen Ford, MD. The two began to collect information on community resources in each of the College of Human Medicine's community campuses during their preclinical years. The lists were published on a College website and used by other students completing an elective in community resources. Over the years, the project was passed to succeeding groups of students. Then in 2004, David Solomon, PhD suggested incorporating the Community Resource Guide into a HRSA Primary Care Medical and Dental Training Grant. Under Heather Laird-Fick, MD, MPH's direction, Abigail Adams and Hannah Ferenchick expanded the resource list and developed it into the tool you find here today. |
